Another in a long list of photo shoots I worked on. The image you will see in a magazine will make you think this is somewhere deep in the country in the middle of an apricot orchard. It’s not. It’s behind a fence in a planned golf/retirement community. Everything is fake in magazines. Only your emotional response to it is real.

Tonight the Flagpoles are playing at The Bottom of the Hill, if anyone wants to stop by and watch our progress.

  1. Do you think there’s any chance you will be able to find the photo when it’s published? I’m wondering how they transform the scene to eliminate the golf course and associated fence. Is it all Photoshop or was the actual mag shot taken from another angle?

You should come up with another fake place for this encounter to be happening and photoshop that in the background. Maybe a subway or a prison yard?

  2. you got it….the phtographer took the shot from a different angle, I took this one so you could see the golf cart. They won’t need to photoshop anything out most likely.
as far as my photoshop skills, they are lacking in the ability to do what you said, but i sure wish i could do it.

  4. Take heart pal, both these people looked like street trash until someone dressed them, another person styled their hair and a third person put makeup on them. If I had a retinue that size dedicated to my appearance I might leave the house more often myself…

  5. i bet they don’t even really like each other, either, right????!?!!?
i was just flipping thru a magazine and came across a shot i worked on last year, too. so funny to see it all photoshopped together, knowing what was surrounding the kid in the grass yard and how we were swearing and fooling around on the other side of the hedge in the shot… good times!
