  1. Just a heads up that when you do not put a title then my blog feed does not indicate an entry has been made.
I’ve gotten lazy and only look at the blog feed to see if you’ve updated anything and when it went 4 days without an entry I actually demoted you to a lower point on my blog feeds. I just felt that if you were going to be taking up space on my blog sidebar then you should take up space down below the Onion, which updates every day.
Then I thought, wait, this doesn’t seem right. No entries for 4 days? That’s crazy. Maybe he’s renounced blogging. I invented whole scenarios in my head for why you were not posting anything. I mean, you pretty much have something to say every day. Is it so hard?
I admit I got angry at you. Lazy motherfucker, I muttered to myself. Then I thought that it couldn’t be true. Maybe my blog feed is lying to me. I’m no expert and I wasn’t sure what it was up to. So, like a neighbor actually visiting an old man to make sure he’s alright after not seeing him pruning his roses or practicing the piano, here I am and after some investigation as to why these posts are not registering on my blog feed I see the common factor is the lack of title, because you are uploading them from your phone and the title must not be an option. Now I see and I understand and so I’m telling you that I may not be the only one who has a blog feed of your posts and we are all seeing just blank dates in our feeds and assuming you are not posting.
    Have I made my point?

Maybe I’m the lazy one who would not even visit your site in person and assume my feed was accurate, but what can I say. One day it was working and the next day you didn’t post. For instance, when you really do skip a day like May 5th, then it showed only a blank date on my feed. So when you posted again on the 6th (with a title) then I was relieved. But on the 7th there was nothing and I figured you had a holiday. Then again on the 8th. then the 9th. what the fuck? Why?
Well, it’s because none of those have titles and my blog feed needs a title.
It’s also cheating yourself in the terms of SEO because titles and labels and meta tags are what search engines use to grade and categorize content. OR is that not a concern?

Anyway, I’ve said my piece and we’ll leave it at this…I will know that a blank date does not necessarily mean you’ve missed a date and I should double check…and you will know that until you add a title then a blog feed will not indicate a post has been made.

If anyone else has something to add then go ahead.

P.S. I chuckled at the stand up routine. Stage presence sounds like a C, but material is a solid B. Was there video?

  2. update:
The feed actually only registers a date when a post has been made. If the post has no title then there is no link. If you really do skip a date then there is no date. This is all new to me so I think my confusion has been cleared up. I guess this means you don’t have to change anything. A title is preferable, unless you were omitting titles to spite my blog feed. Could you set the record straight on that?

  3. i do forget to put titles sometimes and awhile back lyle pointed out that nothing shows up on his feed either, unless I title. Sorry. It is the phone blogging, it is so slow. haven’t had time to be home in front of a computer. thanks for looking in.

  4. It’s true I used to have that problem but then, I think as Firefox got more mature, it starting picking up these entries and listing them like this: myrobotispregnant.com/2010/05/07/3772/. I imagine that this varies from news reader to news reader. I keep my RSS in my Firefox bookmarks toolbar and it works good for me.

  5. Regarding that awesome photo we found, it evidently means something along the lines of “Forgive your mother. Buy her a laptop.” It’s not clear to me why the battered mom needs forgiving more that her sociopathic 4 year old, but then I’m not Russian.
