We got a new movie up! Thanks Fisher, you edited the hell out of it and left the parts in where I sound drunk and stupid. But maybe it’ll work….

  1. Awesome movie! I couldn’t believe the lady who was mad that these people making $60 for 8 hours of work were not paying taxes. I mean, I understand everyone doing their share, but recycling is a huge waste of money and resources to begin with. Besides aluminum which is actually worth something, recycling operates at a net loss for everyone involved. So they lose millions of bucks on their recycling programs and then get pissed when some guy didn’t pay taxes on his $60.

There’s an absolutely awesome bullshit episode on it: http://www.videosift.com/video/Penn-Teller-Bullshit-Recycling

Anyway – LOVED the video and LOVE the blog (been reading for a while now!)

  3. That’s as good as anything I see on the news every night. How long did it take for that all to come together?

3 things that stood out to me:

    1. Was that recycling representative like 4 feet tall? I know you’re a long dude, Rolston but that guy looked like was talking to someone standing on a roof.

    2. That #### from the assembly drove me nuts. Does an issue have to have a lobby to count? I hate that shit. Not to mention she’s all about the city ‘revenue’. The homeless dude and Sam have it right, look how much the government spends on recycling. Isn’t recycling big enough to stand on its own already? Deregulate it.

    3. You really could start your own cardboard racket. Throw on that tie and get business owners to agree not to stick their cardboard into the recycling containers. Come by and pick it up on a schedule. Someone can make the math work.
