I left the water on in the adjacent paddock, went down to my trailer, ate some chow, played some piano, took a nap. Rusty woke me up, “Oggy, you know why the water pressure is down?”
“No, I don’t.”
We hunted all the water faucets.
“Maybe they got it on in the house.”
“Maybe.”
Hours later I went up to feed the roosters and make sure the hay was covered and Rusty comes walking out.
“Water pressure is still low.”
“I wonder why that is.”
He went and checked the last faucet, the one where the hose went INTO the water so we couldn’t hear it splash. Guess what?
We walked over to the shed you have pictured here…water is pouring out the front door.
“Ah, fuck!”
Russ just wades in and grabs the chainsaw off the ground. He comes out shaking his head.
“Well, you get the chop saw and that bucket of nails. And let ‘er dry out.”
Later I cut the hose shorter so it would always splash into the water drum. He never forgave me.
it was so peaceful in there. the church of tools.

He also said, “We’ll be lucky that horse doesn’t die of hoof rot.”
