too tall for magic
“it is good for me that I am not a tall man. Why? Because I must be quick! Quick! and a tall man is always slow. It is so all through the profession: the best men are not too high. A tall man is easy going, good natured; a short man is sometimes good tempered, more often not so. All the mean, cunning men that I have known – short! And for work- the tall man has too much to carry, he is too far from the ground, he cannot lose and recover balance as is necessary, in a flash.”
Harry Houdini
I just read this over at Harry Houdini’s blog. How about something original?

Invite police officers to handcuff you, manacle your body in chains, then jump off the memorial bridge. Underwater you free yourself from your fetters, swim to the surface and collect money from bets you couldn’t do it. That’s how Houdini got rich. There is a learning curve.
Also, consider a bake sale. Write like a 6 year old in crayon a bunch of signs advertising it around town. Get unicorn stickers at CVS. Apply these to the signs. Then fashion a crude stand at the edge of your driveway, without having shaved. Act retarded? Keep a large tip jar. A garbage can for instance. Let me know how it goes.
