silicon valley’s best effort

This is the parking lot sign next to the Police headquarters downtown. It’s beautiful to see the art of the handcrafted (via Sharpie) sign survives here.

breakfast to go

There is a fantasy element in being homeless. Some people dream of retreating to a desert island to get away from the stresses of modern life. Sometimes I wonder if just checking out to the streets would be enough to calm the noise in my head. It would be difficult and expensive to get to a deserted island from here anyway. Why not walk out of the apartment and just sleep down by the beach? Then you see an example like this, where breakfast is a carton of half and half poured directly into the cereal box. It’s doable, but pretty unhealthy.

local sandwich is literally a killer

Eggs? Ham? Hot dogs? Steak? Bacon? Yes, all in one sandwich. Throw on some mayo and sour cream please. From the torta shop on Mission at 23rd.

tire

The Hauler blew a retread on the inside dually. The garage nearby said they couldn’t do it, although the guy was leaning against a bench underneath a rack of tires and a 3 ton floor jack was next to him.

I’ll take this opportunity to tell people to never go to the Chevron on Geary and 24th for anything but the free air. This is the second time they fucked me over.

Luckily I had a bunch of blocks of wood and a bottle jack and a length of pipe to stick the ratchet in and I got the tires off and put a spare on.

Why couldn’t the trained professional use his professional equipment to do this? Again, avoid the Chevron on Geary. If I have any sway over anyone in the outer Richmond, which I doubt I do, then they will pay for being lazy and ignorant and unable to change a tire on dually truck.

I thought I was supposed to use this platform for good…
