Pat Carrigan was there. Brad E., me, and some other props all laid on our backs or stomachs in the middle of the road and this kid, I can't remember who it was, came racing down the street and tried to clear us...but landed on the back of Mike Walker's legs! That was a day I could live over and over again. It was probably 1983...summer...overcast, as usual, lush green leaves on the maple trees, the sound of a basketball down at Leary Field. Pure innocence. The trick was done on a bike much like these vintage beauties, with trick pegs and plastic seats and foam padded top tubes. Drugs eventually destroyed us all. White mag wheels, front and back pegs... The white mushroom grips were still soft and clean. It's o.k. Mom, I only mowed 100 lawns to pay for that.
