damn, didn’t think of that at the time…too surprised…putting my hand down the drain and pulling up its’ bed of guts kinda freaked me for a moment!

i’ve recently rescued an acorn squash seedling from my garbage disposer….on a recent return to my apartment after a weeklong absence, i found the anemic little survivor peeping out between the rubber flaps of my drain. he was stretching up from the squash guts i had discarded and forgot to “dispose” of…he’s been doing his little sunshine dance in a modified sour cream container for about a month now, sporting 8 heart-shaped leaves and a bobble of three baby blossoms! plant rescue!

much to everyone’s staunch disbelief, my plants have historically THRIVED on bong water. my personal hypothesis on the survivability of *this* plant is simply that it hasn’t had enough. go figure.
