The bow tie isn't a midwest thing. In fact, aside from Krispy Kreme, the Milwaukee area is pretty devoid of innovative donut makers. That's OK, though. KK makes frosted blueberry cake donuts which is really all I need, and not too often. I've always been more of a bagel guy...

Dunkin' Donuts makes a bow tie but I'm having a hard time finding a picture of one on the Internet. It's about twice the size of a round donut, shaped like a bow tie, frosted on top (chocolate and vanilla, not Viagra blue and rectum pink, as above). As a kid I would hit the local bakery in Essex, MA for a bow tie to fuel my day.

Lyle, can you send a picture of a bowtie? I don't know what that is. I'd love to discover a regional Milwaukee donut.

Oggy, you were right on except number 7. These cost a dollar apiece, which shocked me. They're only seventy five cents in the city, so I was expecting to pay about fifty cents out here.

One last thing, I think minnows actually live in eel grass.

This is the best looking bunch of donuts I have ever seen - and I've seen lots! I love that they are offering all the frosting colors usually reserved for a limited time around a holiday: green for St. Patty's Day, pink and blue for Easter. This is probably why I feel all giddy like it's Christmas when I look at this picture. And blueberry cake...hell yeah! I thought that was an East Coast thing! And to think this place is hanging out in a strip mall! I need to explore strip malls more...they really do have some gems hiding out in 'em.

I give these donuts an 8.9 for presentation.

First of all, they are obviously crafted with love.

Secondly, they are labeled so you can say, "Could I have two frosted blueberry cakes, please" rather than saying, "Gimme two of these. No, one over. Yeah. Those."

Third, they have frosted blueberry cake. Blueberry cake is already the best, but to frost it is fucking awesome! Gimme three!

Fourth, pastel frosting left over from easter?

Fifth, Coffee cake donut? Man, that's better than having a stripper for a wife!

Sixth, frosted coffee cake donut? Ok, now you're just teasing me. What's next? Frosted Blueberry buttermilk bars?

Seventh, I guarantee the Thai counter person said, "How many?" when you walked in the door.

Eighth, They cost $.65 each if they cost a nickel.

Ninth, they keep the trans fat in the recipe...like nature intended.

Ten, variety, variety, variety!

That might be the nastiest bunch of donuts I've ever seen. What's everyone drooling over? Plus, everything is round. Hook me up with a bow-tie or sum'n!

maybe you could make a pot of coffee at home and pour it in a box and bring that to work. and put some frosting on some bagels and bring those too...

These delicious looking donuts are in the strip mall by the ocean in the Linda Mar area of Pacifica. Go down the Coast Highway until you see a taco bell standing alone in the middle of a beach right on the edge of the breakwater. Take a left at the next light, then turn right into the parking lot. There is only one donut shop in the complex.
